Burnley interim head coach Mike Jackson surprised by winning the Premier League Manager of the Month award for April.
Jackson, formerly the Under-23s coach at Burnley, was brought in as interim first-team coach in place of the sacked Sean Dyche. After leading the team to sink in the red zone, ranked 18th until mid-April Burnley made seven appearances in the Premier League in April. The result of Dyche’s three wins 1 loss 2. Which has no effect on the Premier League’s decision to choose Jackson because of his four games later ufabet. They drew 1-1 with West Ham, won 2-0 at home to Southampton, won 1-0 at home to Wolves and won 2-1 at Watford.
Jackson became the first Burnley manager to start in charge of a top-flight team in the first four games without losing. And is the first Clarets manager to win the Premier League Manager of the Month award after Dyche did in February 2020. Managers nominated for the award in April, besides Jackson, are Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Jerry. Liverpool’s Gen Klopp has yet to receive the award in the 2021-22 season.
‘That’s what we’ve tried to do here, we ask that of the players and the staff, and if you keep working along those lines of what we’re about – the hard work to even compete at this level – that’s the main thing.
‘The players have really worked hard over the last few weeks, not just physically, it’s the mental side of it as well. In the last few weeks, they’ve been through a lot but that brings them closer together, it brings the whole place together.’
